The International Olympic Committee said in a statement addressed to its members that it has been assured by Russian government that a recent law against gay rights activism will not affect those associated with or attending the Sochi Olympics in February.

“The International Olympic Committee is clear that sport is a human right and should be available to all regardless of race, sex or sexual orientation as stated in the Olympic Charter,” the statement read. “The Games themselves should be open to all, free of discrimination, and that applies to spectators, officials, media and, of course, athletes. We would oppose in the strongest terms any move that would jeopardise this principle.

“As you know, this legislation has just been passed into law and it remains to be seen whether and how it will be implemented, particularly as regards the Games in Sochi. As a sports organisation, what we can do is to continue to work to ensure that the Games can take place without discrimination against athletes, officials, spectators and the media. To that end, the IOC has received a number of assurances from the highest level of government in Russia that the legislation will not affect those attending or taking part in the Games.”

President Barack Obama has voiced disagreement with the Russian law enacted in June that bans “propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations” to minors. He also does not believe in a boycott.

“I do not think it’s appropriate to boycott the Olympics,” Obama told reporters Friday. “We’ve got a bunch of Americans out there who are training hard, who are doing everything they can to succeed.”

Get it in writing, signed by Czar Vladimir, and I’ll believe it.

At least in Russia the Christians are not scared little puppies afraid of Hollywood.

    Three Obvious Facts:
1 – God put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (not man+man nor woman+woman)
2 – We should we bless something that would exterminate the human race? If we were all SELFISHLY gay the human race would be extinct in 120 years.
3 – God told us all to love, but that doesn’t mean we have to support something that is COMPLETELY THE OPPOSITE OF GOD.

    Three Obvious Facts:

2 – WHY should we bless something that would exterminate the human race? If we were all SELFISHLY gay the human race would be extinct in 120 years.
3 – God told us all to love, but that doesn’t mean we have to support something that is COMPLETELY THE OPPOSITE OF GOD. The first commandment was to multiply and replenish the earth.

At least gay people self-exterminate.. which is one way a good thing for the human race, but in my heart it is sad. I think some gay people have done amazing things .. too bad they are so blinded by selfishness to care about the human race and their own eternal souls!

      Three Obvious Facts:
1 – The human race reproduces too much, not too little.
2 – Adam and Eve certainly did not actually exist as the first two people.
      3 – God probably doesn’t exist either.

Do you think you are smarter than your God, that you believe gay people should be reproducing for the good of the human race? If God exists, he certainly doesn’t need YOU to be his referee. He must have made gay people just like he made everything else, no?

When your someone’s guest you abide by their rules.

If this bothers the IOC so much they can put the Olympics in only gay friendly countries.

I know, straight people or majority they want to control GLBT minority. They always do it from the beginning. I hope if it exists the reincarnation, next life they might born to be gays and the other people will discriminate them. So they will know. If God does exist, he will bless everybody, except the bad human being. Sorry straight, but I m gay and i m proud of myself. I am well educated and happy as i am. If you have the problem with that. It’s your problem. Thanks. Finally, from now Russia and Olympics is no more in my head. It s gone now. Hope that GLBT will survive over there. Let s pray. One more thing, there are over 6 billions people. If you can count that, extinction because of gays, how stupid they think like that. Lol haha funny

Congratulations on being gay. Personally I don’t care that’s your business, not mine.

Once again their house their rules. I have to follow their rules when I go there or anywhere else in the world.

Really wouldn’t worry about the government there, probably should be more worried about the underworld taking matters into their own hands.
