Based on the various reports written regarding this, it sounds as if first he hit her with a cricket bat, then when she went to hide from him in the bathroom he shot her through the door multiple times. Then realizing what he’d done, he carries her downstairs, so paramedics might try to save her life but NOT have access to where the beating/shooting took place. Who knows what would have happened had a neighbor not immediately called police.

This is shaping up to be a bad situation for a gifted athlete. Her family must be devastated.
