“We aren’t participating either unless wrestling is reinstated”.

It is not even international. This is all about eliminating sports where Europe struggles. Baseball was much more popular than synchronized diving or rhythmic gymnastics worldwide, but Europeans struggled and Americans often medaled, so it was eliminated.
